Traditional Summer Camp

Established in 1918 by the Sperling/Selverstone family, Camp Lenox is one of the early pioneers in the private summer camp community.

The term "traditional summer camp" came about in the 20's, 30's, and 40's—a time when many new summer camps were established in the Northeast.

Typically, a traditional summer camp offers an eight week residential program with sports, arts, and other activities. In addition to these activities, each camp has its own special traditions and ceremonies that mark the summer in the minds and hearts of children.

In the years since Camp Lenox was established, the traditions have turned into a rich history shared by multiple generations, the activity programs have expanded, and the fun goes on and on.
